2016 US Chess Championship - Round 10

A few games are still in progress, but the leaders have finished their battles. Nakamura won and now trails Caruana by half a point. Caruana is the huge favorite since he is playing the bottom seed in the last round. Robson has some very remote chances: Caruana would have to lose to Chandra, while neither Nakamura nor So would win.

2016 Norway Chess Tournament

The 2016 Norway Chess Tournament begins soon. The main event will be a 10-player round robin featuring Magnus Carlsen and many other stars. The forecast had to rely on the March rating list rather than April's for a surprising reason. Apparently FIDE has decided to stop updating the ratings for Ukrainian players, and this affects Eljanov.

Wesley So defeated Akobian and caught up to Caruana. Robson certainly had the opportunity to join them at the top, but he blundered away a winning endgame, gaining only a draw.

The big news of the round was Caruana's victory over Nakamura. Caruana is now in clear first place and is definitely the favorite to win the tournament.

A good day for the Elo rating system - all the favorites won, with the exception of a draw between Onischuk and Xiong.

The 2016 US Chess Championship is a 12-player round robin starring Caruana, Nakamura, and So. Due to some technical difficulties, the forecast wasn't ready until about 2 hours after the games started.
